The Shareholders of MyTechie South Africa unanimously approved a new black economic empowerment share scheme, that will afford a newly registered company called UsizoZonke (Pty) Ltd. a Thirty Percent (30%) equity share in MyTechie South Africa.
The core aim of UsizoZonke (Pty) Ltd is, to initiate a meaningful broad-based black economic empowerment ownership stake in MyTechie, and to give hard-working Techies and related stakeholders, a meaningful ownership in MyTechie South Africa, which will thereby influence its policy and direction.
The growing inequality, unemployment and poverty in South Africa is indicative of some of the systemic challenges that MyTechie wants to play a meaningful role in addressing. The sad reality of our times is that we find many educated people unable to find decent job opportunities, to get a suitable career start or to flourish as entrepreneurs.
Despite COVID and the lockdowns, the unavailability of silicon chips globally, and the general national economic conditions, MyTechie South Africa has grown in acceptance, empowered engineers and technicians throughout South Africa, facilitated job opportunities, and has Made-A-Difference (#MAD) by empowering and up-skilling our members nationwide.
Over R500 000 has been paid to Technicians and 20 SMME sub contractors in the first 5 months of this financial year, via opportunities they have leveraged through the MyTechie platform in the corporate ICT and related sectors.
MyTechie SA does this by matching up the market demands with the required skills, where they are needed within the ICT, smart energy and related industries.
With year on year growth, MyTechie SA now has the opportunity to scale and expand, and UsizoZonke is able to assist to crowdfund this tech-as-a-service business and thereby give MyTechie the ability to operate efficiently and in the scalable way it is intended.
Mr. Andre Hoffmann, Founder and CEO of MyTechie SA said, “as a company, we have our youth and our communities at heart. It is my core objective, and that of the shareholders, to make sure that the key stakeholders (the Techies) are given a meaningful stake in the company and its future.” He further added, “the route to real wealth and sustainable lifestyle improvements for our members and their families, lies in building sustainable businesses and developing their equity portfolio in a measured and impactful way.”
The UsizoZonke initiative will help the gig-economy platform achieve its B-BBEE ownership targets, and qualifying Black South Africans will now be able to buy shares at an affordable price of One Hundred Rand per share (R100).
